The 3rd Korea International Jewelry & Watch Fair 2005 will be held at COEX, Seoul for 4 days in June 30th through July 3rd. The show is organized by the Korea International Trade Association and it consists of 400 companies on a scale of 500 booths, increased by 20% in comparison to last year.





In 2004, a total of 363 companies from 22 countries participated (103 foreign companies and 258 Korean ones) and were pleased with the level and quality of the attendee traffic. Among exhibitors in the International Pavilion, there are Tasaki from Japan, Lili Diamonds from Israel, Diarough from Hong Kong, Blumer from Germany etc.

This year, there will be the pavilions called PGI (Platinum Guild International), Fashion Jewelry & Accessories Pavilion and OEM Pavilion. PGI Pavilion consists of Korean and Japanese companies, which show the platinum jewelry that is not well known to the Korean Market yet. Fashion Accessories Pavilion consists of 70 companies representing 2,000 shops of Namdaemun Market and they show costume jewelry products. Korea has 20% of the market share in the world costume jewelry industry. OEM pavilion represents 12 small & medium sized firms in Korea who have excellent techniques and production lines promoting cooperation with overseas companies. In addition to these, there will be a special display of Jewelmer International, which is the well-known Philippine pearl company for their beautiful gold pearl collection.
From Korea, many watch manufacturing companies including Romanson, Adong Industry, SWC and major jewelry export companies including Kreis Jewelry, Core Jewelry are all participating and are prepared to have business talks with overseas buyers.

It is expected that more than 30,000 visitors, which include 1,000 overseas buyers, will come this year.
Welcoming reception and jewelry fashion show for the exhibitors and visitors will be held at Convention Hall, COEX, at 7:00 pm on the opening day of June 30th. 12 companies which represent Korea’s jewelry industry will take part in the jewelry fashion show.

Meanwhile, there will be a special display of the winning pieces in the International Jewelry & Watch Design Contest 2005 titled “Harmony between the light and color”. It is held to find and foster new talented designers and the artworks will be shown in the Convention Hall during the fair period. The presentation of the prize to the winners will be by the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy and the President of Kore International Trade Association.

In addition, this fair is expected to attract visitors' attention because there will be a variety of events such as various seminars, free appraisal of diamonds and colored gemstones, and a special display of the Korean traditional jewelry.

The first 2 days are Business days for jewelry and watch related industries, and general visitors can visit the show on the 2nd and the 3rd of July. (Minors under 15 are not permitted entry.)
