Print’Or 2006, Success at the Source

August 2005

The 14th edition of PRINT’OR, the leading event in France for watch and jewellery trade professionals, will take place on 5th, 6th and 7th February 2006 at Lyon Eurexpo.
This international meeting promises to be more dynamic than ever, as the 2006 show will be in the brand new hall 6 of the Eurexpo centre. With natural lighting, no pillars and a larger capacity, this hall provides the opportunity to redesign the architecture of future shows.
PRINT’OR thus provides its exhibitors with the most attractive of showcases.

A PHOTO THAT REFLECTS THE AMBITIONS OF PRINT’OR 2006

“Success at the Source”: an image that evokes fineness, femininity and gentleness and a powerful slogan symbolise PRINT’OR’s position as show leader.
This slogan is above all a reminder of the position of Lyon as cradle of the jewellery trade in France. It is only natural, therefore, that PRINT’OR, the show that brings together the entire profession, has its source in Lyon.
The river of diamonds on the photo evokes the luxurious universe of jewellery, the creativity it inspires, and also the sales impetus provided to each PRINT’OR player. This new edition intends to be a source of creation for exhibitors, a source of successful commercial exchange for visitors, and a source of inspiration for craftspeople and students through the Print’Or Trophies, rules of which are changing for the next season.

PRINT’OR TROPHIES 2006:
PLATINUM IN THE SPOTLIGHT

For several years now, the PRINT’OR trophies have rewarded the quality of watch and jewellery designs, from both a technical and creative viewpoint. For the 2006 edition, the Trophies are bringing platinum to the fore with the theme Total White.
Pure, rare and eternal, platinum is the rarest of precious metals.
Its purity gives it a white sheen which enhances the beauty of diamonds or pearls. Combined with it, white – a symbol of lightness, romance and purity – rewrites the codes of elegance.

This original theme spotlights platinum in France and also brings a new element to the Trophies with the creation of a third category, for exhibitors. They will have the opportunity to come up with a design on the theme of Total White alongside students from international jewellery, design or art schools, and craftspeople who have never exhibited at PRINT’OR.
The first 20 craftspeople in France who sign up for the competition will be supplied with between 5 and 10 grams of this precious metal by Platinum Guild International, which is investing approximately 4,000 euros in order to promote platinum to manufacturers.

Participants must make a design on the theme of platinum. The jewellery may include other materials, such as stones, pearls or rock crystal, as long as they are white, pastel or clear. The important thing is that the designs and creations must be a harmony of the colour white.
All items made for the Trophies will be displayed in the Designers area dedicated to the competition.

The Trophies, which will feature in a wide scale press campaign (both trade press and general press), will be awarded to each category of participants during the show, after deliberation by a panel made up of journalists and members of the profession. The prize allocated to craftspeople and students is 1,800 euros.

Lastly, the items of jewellery submitted by craftspeople will be kept by the representative in France of Platinum Guild International between 8th February and 31st December 2006 for advertising purposes, unless the craftsperson has the opportunity to sell the item in question.

PRINT’OR is organised by EMAP AGOR and will take place from 5th to 7th February 2006 at Lyon Eurexpo, Hall 6.
