Publication of the first horological supplement ‘Watch Your Time USA’ in The New York Times

October 2005

The publisher ETI (Editions Temps International) has just published in the USA its first special watch supplement in an exclusive partnership with The New York Times.
Distributed nationally on 16 October along with the Sunday edition of the celebrated north-American newspaper, this exceptional supplement of 68 pages, entirely dedicated to quality watchmaking, had a distribution of 1.8 million copies, for an estimated readership of 5 million readers.
It is, without doubt, the most important campaign promoting the virtues of quality watchmaking carried out on American soil. The American market is the leading importer of Swiss watches, yet it still harbours great opportunities for further development. According to Keith Strandberg, the Editor in Chief of the supplement, “We still have much to do to educate the North American public, given that so many people are unaware of real watchmaking values. We must teach them what is hidden behind a dial, show them the total savoir-faire represented in a quality watch and also explain to them that acquiring a beautiful watch is an investment.”
Written in the United States and printed in Europe, ‘Watch Your Time USA’, was realized in Switzerland under the direction of Pierre Maillard, who is the distinguished Editor in Chief of Europa Star.
