Records broken at Iberjoya September 2005

October 2005

- The trade fair recorded an increase of 18.8% in the number of visitors with a total of 28,353 trade visitors

- The prominent presence of supply and demand from abroad strengthened Iberjoya's international range

- The starring role played by fashion as well as the many parallel activities and first time commercial presentations, have been the strong points at this edition

The last edition of IBERJOYA, held between 15th and 19th September at the FERIA DE MADRID, closed its doors with excellent final results and the largest number of visitors it has ever had. A total of 28,353 trade visitors were recorded at this important meeting for the jewellery, silverware, watch and related industry sector, which showed the latest trends and new products from the 561 direct exhibiting companies.

This figure, which has meant an 18.8% increase in visitors over the figure reached at the last edition, together with the excellent valuation of the fair, with regard to business presence and also referring to the diversity and the high level of its contents, underline IBERJOYA'S capacity as the main representation space for the sector in our country, and revalidates its position as one of the leading shows on the European jewellery fair circuit.

Proof of this is also seen in the growing presence of international supply and demand at the fair which, this time, reached its maximum direct participation figures with 121 foreign companies and 1,561 buyers from 60 countries. The attendance of foreign trade visitors, mainly from Portugal, Italy, France, the United Kingdom, Turkey and Belgium has risen by 80%; a spectacular increase that ratifies the effectiveness of IBERJOYA as a business platform and to promote exports.

With regard to national visitors, the presence at the fair of purchasers from all the regions of Spain is worth mentioning, as well as many trade visitors from Madrid (22,5%) Andalusia (17,3%) Valencia (10,9%) Catalonia (7,7%) Galicia (5,9%) the Canary Islands (5,35%) Castilla y León (5,33%) and the Basque Country (4,8%).
