GNN Diamonds brings Micro-Calibration™ to the watch and jewelry Industry

November 2005

GNN Diamonds Ltd., a leading manufacturer of fancy shaped diamonds, has announced the development of a proprietary technology called Micro-calibration™, which is designed to address the precise specifications for calibrated diamond cuts used by the high-end watch and jewelry industries.

The Micro-calibration™ process was developed over a period of several years using optics and electronic systems utilized by other high-tech industries. GNN is currently in the process of registering the technology.

“Using Micro-calibration™, we have been able to cut, calibrate and set fancy shaped diamonds for our watch and jewelry designing and manufacturing customers to a degree of precision within one hundredth of a millimeter,” said Haim Giladi, Co-CEO, GNN Diamonds. “It has enabled us to stay ahead of the game to serve our exclusive clientele with very exacting demands.“

To create the systems used to achieve Micro-calibration™, GNN employs computer numerical control (CNC) and other computer-aided technologies. These originally were developed to comply with the precision-engineering standards demanded in the optics and electronic industries. In addition, GNN has created specialized tools for the needs of diamond calibration to ensure precision.

Because of the technological proficiency enabled by Micro-calibration™, GNN calibrates all diamonds in-house in the company’s facilities. This ensures superior calibration and complete confidentiality concerning each client’s designs and diamond usage.

“Thanks to Micro-calibration™, we have been able to increase our sales to the leading international watch and jewelry manufacturers and designers, whose clients demand the unique and precise cutting, calibration and setting developed by GNN,” said Pini Netzer, Co-CEO, GNN Diamonds.
