On-Motion Ltd. has created a new movement for sport and pilot watches - the analogue watch instrument movement, AWI. The AWI movement measures g-force, critical to pilots and extreme sportspeople, in addition to providing standard quartz watch function.
The new movement is based on a Swiss made quartz movement. The first breathtaking modification to the original Swiss movement is that the new movement accommodates a micro-electro-mechanical acceleration sensor. However, the brightest jewel of this wonderful piece of craftsmanship is a bi-directional big centre hand. Together with a small hand at 6 o’clock the movement does not only display current g-force but also keeps track of the maximum g-force.
This new movement is the firstborn of the AWI movement family. The future will see the family expanding with new members that will each introduce a carefully selected function of its own.
