Raymond Weil Celebrates its 30th Anniversary

December 2006

Looking far younger than his eighty years, Raymond Weil, Honorary President of the company he founded in 1976, accompanied by his wife Eliane, Olivier Bernheim, CEO and Pierre Bernheim, Area Sales Manager and grandson of Raymond Weil, celebrated the company’s 30th Anniversary in the Bader watch and jewellery emporium in Geneva’s Rue de la Confédération after events in China, India and Russia.

In 1976, when the Swiss watch industry was going through all sorts of turmoil, Raymond Weil launched his company with a handful of prototypes and many friends within the watch industry and trade. 30 years later, having gained a public and professional following by creating attractive, quality watches at truly affordable prices, Raymond Weil remains a family enterprise with Olivier Bernheim, Raymond Weil’s son-in-law at the helm with Elie and Pierre, Olivier’s sons, ensuring that the company will remain an independent force in today’s tough group-dominated environment.

In addition to underlining the brand’s presence on the watch market with its beautifully elegant ‘Shine Collection’ and a special 30th Anniversary Limited Edition, Raymond Weil SA has created the RW Club under the direction of Pierre Bernheim, as a means of introducing anyone passionate about the arts to artists they may not yet have discovered. As Olivier Bernheim explains, “Raymond Weil is one of the few family-owned watch companies and today the third generation is playing an important role. It is essential in my and my family’s opinion, to broaden our spirit of closeness, which has been anchored in our values since the brand’s very beginnings, to all aficionados of Raymond Weil watches and the RW Club is just another excellent example of our philosophy.”
