Ritmo revs up with Indy sponsorship

March 2007

Ritmo Mundo and the Indy Car Series have signed a five-year partnership that will make Ritmo Mundo the official timepiece of the Indy Car Series and Indy Pro Series.

The deal also includes a licensing agreement for Indy Car Series-branded Ritmo Mundo watches, which may expand to include driver-branded timepieces in the future.

Under the terms of the deal, Ritmo Mundo will present a $100,000 watch to the Indy Car Series championship driver, a $25,000 watch to the Indy Pro Series championship driver and a watch to each race winner in both series.

Ritmo Mundo plans to promote the partnership through the IMS Radio Network, Indy Car Series magazine, the Indianapolis 500 race program, an Indycar.com banner, and ads and video displays at every series event.

The companies will also collaborate on an Indy Car Series-branded ad campaign for print and new media that focuses on Ritmo Mundo's relationship with the series, and Ritmo Mundo will use the Indy Car Series and Indy Pro Series champions in separate advertising campaigns.

“Today's partnership announcement with Ritmo gives the Indy Car Series a true marketing partner committed to activating its relationship and building a mutually beneficial licensing program,” Indy Car Series National Sales Senior Director Gerald Raines said in a statement. “In a very short period of time, Ritmo has garnered an astounding amount of retail, press and consumer attention, resulting in becoming one of the hottest watch brands throughout the world, which makes it a natural fit for the Indy Car Series.”
