A step towards the manufacturing world: Bucherer Montres S.A., producer of the Carl F. Bucherer watches has taken over Techniques Horlogères Appliquées S.A.

The independent watch brand Carl F. Bucherer, based in Lucerne, is continuing with its expansion strategy. After entering the Japanese market in early 2007, with the opening of a wholly owned subsidiary, Carl F. Bucherer is strengthening its position on the high-end watchmaking market with the acquisition of Techniques Horlogères Appliquées S.A.

Having worked successfully with THA for over ten years, Bucherer Montres S.A. is now seeking to tap existing synergies and become more involved in the technical aspects, hence the strategic decision to acquire the company. This new development fits with Carl F. Bucherer’s brand vision as a manufacture.

Bucherer Montres S.A. will rely on two complementary production facilities in the future: Lengnau with its assembly unit and Ste Croix with its development, technical research and movement production unit. The two units will continue to be run independently under their current structure and will collaborate closely.
