JA NEW YORK announces a “Special Delivery” for the Holiday Season

July 2003

New JANY Special Delivery Jewelry Show Opens October 24 - 26, 2004 (Sunday-Tuesday)
at the Jacob Javits Convention Center Just In Time For Holiday Buying

Just in time for retailers to buy jewelry for the holiday season, VNU Expositions, producers of the prestigious JA New York shows, has announced the debut of the new JANY Special Delivery Show at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City, to be held October 24 - 26, 2004.
The announcement was made by Drew Lawsky, show director of JA New York, “This event responds to the needs of the jewelry industry and enables retail buyers to get great last minute merchandise for the holidays without delays of shipment,” said Mr. Lawsky. “Attendees will be able to scout the aisles for the best deals, seasonal trends, and popular designs they need to stock their stores.”
The jewelry industry as a whole is preparing for the new buying opportunity. According to Catherine Chan, General Manager of the Hong Kong Jewellery & Jade Manufacturers Association, “JANY Special Delivery is a great opportunity for jewelry designers and manufacturers to move product and reach retailers with merchandise for the holidays. Since retailers can purchase directly from the show floor, it eliminates concern about the timely delivery of goods and helps the bottom line with better year-end cash flows.”
Exhibitors are already signing up for the show. William Lam, president of William Lam & Company, Inc., said, “This is a great idea, and the timing and location are perfect. We will fully support this show and plan to take ten booths.”
Edi Sarafoglu at Comex adds, “Congratulations to VNU Expositions, this is a terrific concept at the ideal time of year for this type of show. I always do well at the JA New York Shows and we would be delighted to exhibit.”
New York is the hub of the U.S. jewelry industry, where thousands conduct business every day and the new JANY Special Delivery Show is already attracting the attention of qualified buyers. “After a strong end of summer and a hectic back to school season, it&Mac245;s a great opportunity to fill in with some exciting pieces for the holidays” said, Marc Solomon of Solomons Fine Jewelry and President of the New York State Jewelers Association. “The JANY Special Delivery Show is a great last minute advantage if shipments are late and to hedge any inventory problems in order to keep up with customer demands.”
The holidays are the most important time of year for retailers and the JANY Special Delivery Show will give buyers a chance to fill their cases with designs they can sell immediately.
Additional details about the JANY Special Delivery Show will be announced during the upcoming months. Readers with questions about exhibiting can contact Drew Lawsky at (646) 654-4983 or (800) 950-1314 ext. 4983 or [email protected] , or send a fax to (646) 654-4919 to reserve booth space.
