Jack KelÉge, a Sense of History

June 2003

Designer and manufacturer Jack KelÉge has a unique sense of history: first in the proud history of his family, where he has followed in the footsteps of his grandfather and father
in the design and production of fine jewelry; and second, in his appreciation
and understanding of the labor-intensive methods necessary for producing
the finest platinum and diamond jewelry.

Jack KelÉge established his company in Los Angeles three decades ago and has been its sole proprietor and designer since 1972. He has a workshop filled with highly trained master craftsmen, with an average of 20 years experience. All work is done in-house, under the watchful eye of the designer himself.
In the beginning, KelÉge supplied top jewelers with special-order pieces. But as the platinum tidal wave began to engulf the nation, he noted a growing demand for his products and made the decision to enlarge his business and increase his audience. He began attending trade shows, advertising in major magazines and building the size of his collection.
Today, Jack KelÉge occupies a unique position in the jewelry industry as he is both the designer and manufacturer of his own collection. This greatly benefits his customers, he says, because he is able to fulfill special requests and assure quick deliveries yet maintain the highest level of quality.
All jewelry is made with painstaking precision: filigree is formed from fine-gauge platinum wire that is hand-welded into shape. Engraving is done entirely by hand, using intricate patterns and designs. All casting, polishing and setting are done in-house. The wedding, engagement and fashion rings in this collection are modern in form, yet influenced by the elegance of an earlier age. A creator of heirloom jewelry, KelÉge considers the longevity and wearability of each piece. He describes his designs as “inspired by classical motifs, timeless in appearance and uncompromising in quality.”
Today, the Jack KelÉge Collection can be found in the finest retail shops across the country. Each piece is stamped with the company's name and designer's logo as an assurance of authenticity.
The collection is shown at major industry trade shows, such as the Couture Jewellery Collection & Conference, the New York JA Show, the JCK Las Vegas Show and the Centurion Show. His advertising can be seen in Town & Country, Wedding Dresses, Elegant Bride and The Robb Report.
