Aaron Basha: Artful Whimsy

June 2003

A third-generation family business with an elegant boutique on New York's prestigious Madison Avenue, Aaron Basha has attracted an international clientele for its whimsical little treasures of jewelry art as well as its more sophisticated diamond and platinum pieces.

Aaron Basha's much-admired `Baby Shoe' collection was launched in 1996. Each piece is exclusively handcrafted in Italy using a combination of precious materials such as platinum, white or yellow 18K gold, diamonds, colored gemstones and jewel-toned French enamel. Each piece is a handmade miniature work of art, finely detailed with whimsical straps, bows, flowers and jeweled patterns on the toes. The tiny shoes can be worn singly or in groups, on bracelets, chains, neck rings or with their own coordinating jeweled safety pins.
An immediate success, these collectible charms are ideal gifts for women of all ages, whether they are mothers, grandmothers or mothers-to-be. Aaron Basha Baby Shoes can be found in the jewelry collections of such celebrities as Celine Dion, Demi Moore, Katie Couric, Madonna, Hillary Rodham Clinton and Melanie Griffith, among others. “They are so popular because they have an emotional appeal,” explains Sasson Basha.
Aaron Basha also offers a number of stylish and emotional jewelry collectibles, including race cars, baby carriages, crayons, diaper pins, bells and some of nature's cutest creatures. One of the most popular collections is `Lovebugs', incorporating necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings with tiny 18K gold lady bugs detailed in brilliant enamel accented by diamonds.
Another of the brand's jeweled fantasies of love is the `Platinum Heart' collection, featuring white diamonds in shimmering platinum settings accented by pink diamonds in rose gold. The romantic `Monaco' collection, created in collaboration with the Principality of Monaco, is styled with emerald-cut white diamonds contrasted with fancy pink diamonds. For the jewelry connoisseur, there is a series of one-of-a-kind designs with natural colored champagne and cognac diamond briolettes.
Aaron Basha Boutique, at 680 Madison Avenue between 61st and 62nd Streets, in the heart of New York's luxury shopping district, offers one more unique service. It is one of the very few jewelry boutiques where the designer and owner is sometimes on hand to give personal attention to his clients. The boutique is open from 10 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday, from 11 am until 6 pm on Saturday.
