Israel Diamond Museum to host new exhibition: “Bukhara, blessed by the sun”

October 2002

The Harry Oppenheimer Diamond Museum, located in the heart of the Israel Diamond Exchange complex, will feature the richness of the Bukharan culture in a new exhibition entitled “Bukhara the Lovely, Blessed by the Sun”. The first in a series on ethnic communities in Israel, the exhibition will include jewelry, fabrics, utensils and clothing. It will be open from October 15, 2002, to December 31, 2002.

The Harry Oppenheimer Museum, opened in 1986, is a subsidiary of the Israel Diamond Institute and is supported by the diamond industry. According to Moshe Schnitzler, one of the founders of the musem, it offers the public a rare look into the wondrous and magical world of the diamond.

Recently redesigned, the musem displays the diamonds through science, industry and art. Every year, this educational and cultural resource attracts thousands of visitors. The museum, in addition to its permanent display, hosts special exhibitions all connected in some way to the fascinating diamond experience.
