According to www.lesinfos.com,; Pinault Printemps La Redoute (PPR) has officialized the increase of its holding of Gucci to 67.34%. Last August, PPR's share in Gucci amounted to 66.65%. PPR thus seems close to achieve its goal of controlling 70% of the Italian brand's capital before the year 2003 is over. In its media release, the distribution group announces that the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) had been informed of its increase of holding in Gucci to 67.34% on September 23rd, following buy outs on the News York and Amsterdam stock exchange markets.
