Lac Investment SA creates new luxury goods group with Perficio SA

On 1 October 2003, Lac Investment SA created a new luxury goods group by setting up the Perficio group. Its aim is to acquire prestigious brands in the watch and jewellery sectors, and to ensure their effective management and development by the Perficio group. The very recent purchase of Poiray and the acquisition of a majority share in Ikepod, represent the first steps in this strategy of global management.

Lac Investment SA is a holding company based in Coppet, Switzerland. In order to expand its activities in the luxury goods sectors, the company established the Perficio group a few months ago, when still under its previous name. Messrs. Christian Weber and William J.-G. Devine, who head the group, both have a wealth of experience in the watch and jewellery business.

The two leaders of the Perficio group have concentrated their efforts on putting together a new luxury goods group of manageable size. This structure is based on an overall concept that helps companies to organise themselves to face an increasingly competitive international market. The primary aim with each company acquisition is to develop an effective management framework that allows the various company functions to be centralised, including the management of finance, marketing, communication, logistics or production.

Stressing diversity, and above all the complementary nature of the companies it oversees, the group favours top-of-the-range brands, but with distinct objectives. The famous Parisian jeweller Poiray and the very innovative watch brand Ikepod, which have recently been incorporated in the group, will benefit from an injection of energy as a result of exploiting their synergies. At this first stage, the Perficio group is laying a sound basis on which it plans to pursue its expansion; Perficio will, in fact, move towards further acquisitions in the very short term.

The group, which is keen to ensure the efficient management of all the different segments of a company, has also secured the services of CrÉations Dick Steenman, Geneva, a talented young designer who is joining the Perficio group to design a new line of Poiray watches and jewellery.
