Genevan jeweller Fawaz Gruosi, founder and president of de Grisogono S.A. is a finalist of the “Entrepreneur of the Year 2003” award.

At a time when successful businesses are more than ever subjected to stiff competition coupled with a serious economic recession, it was to a full assembly of prominent business figures that, for the sixth consecutive year, Ernst and Young Suisse presented their award to the most successful and forward-looking entrepreneurs.

Federal Counsellor Joseph Deiss, who heads the Federal Department for Economy was present at the Award Night which took place on September 26th in Zurich, where Ernst and Young honoured the most successful entrepreneurs for 2003.

Fawaz Gruozi, the famous Genevan jeweller, was amongst the 23 finalists chosen from amongst 50 prominent entrepreneurs selected by Ernst and Young.

Before the award ceremony, Fawaz Gruosi and the other finalists were able to confer in private for an hour with Joseph Deiss, this gave them the opportunity of discussing a number of economically and politically related subjects.

Initiated by Ernst and Young,“the Entrepreneur of the Year” award is presented in more than 100 towns over more than 30 countries. This citation is to this day the only worldwide programme rewarding entrepreneurs. In 2004, the first world summit of “entrepreneur of the Year” will take place in Europe.
