FORTIS sponsors the third Trofeo Baleares

Finish at the Hipódrom son PardoThis spring, the third legendary “Trofeo Baleares Clasico de Automovil” took place on Majorca. In this year, 140 rare rallye and GT- cars were registered - each of them a unique piece in the history of motor sports, and none of them has been built after 1976. For four days, drivers from all over Europe, among them one of the legends of motor sports, Walter RÖhrl, were competing in two groups: for speed (Competition Class) and for driving exact average times (Regularity Class).

The winners of the 2003 Competition Class were:
1st : JÜrgen Barth and Birgit Spaltmann (Porsche 911`RS 70)
2nd : Walter RÖhrl and Christian GeistdÖrfer (Porsche Carrera SR)
3rd : John and Jan Bosch (Ferrari 365GTB Daytona, one of the last models produced at the plant in Maranello, equipped with a front motor)

As far as legendary vintage car races are concerned, watches of both high quality and precision are a must. Vintage car freaks from all over the word have succumbed to the magic of mechanics, as the exclusive automobiles run as precise as a clockwork. The traditional Swiss watch brand FORTIS sponsored the event and thus contributed to its success. Prizes of great demand were waiting for the winners: FORTIS PILOT CHRONOGRAPHS with a glass basement and an engraving which was designed especially for the race.
