Franck Muller Watchland organises a football tournament and is victim of an organised break-in robbery

Geneva, February 7, 2001 - Franck Muller Watchland plays an important role on Geneva's sports scene as organiser and main sponsor of La Coupe des Rois indoors football tournament. A popular and international event, La Coupe des Rois 2001 featured football teams S.L. Benfica, A.S. Saint-Etienne, F.C. Ararat Yerevan and Servette F.C. The winner of the 2001 edition was S.L. Benfica.
But the Franck Muller shop in Geneva's Noga Hilton complex was also victim of a break-in robbery. This night, at 3.16 am, the company's security services were alerted that something was amiss and despite their quick intervention could only establish that 200.000 Swiss francs' worth of watches were snatched away. A witness recorded that two hooded men were breaking four show windows during just a minute and then drove away unhindered.
