Mazzuoli’s Manometro gets a face lift

The Manometro collection expands with two new timepieces in bold green and blue, renewing the Italian brand’s timeless charm.

Mazzuoli has made a name for himself with quality Italian-made writing instruments, agenda books, notebooks, and even watches. The talented Florentine has been in the watchmaking business for over a decade now, with his flagship watch design - the Manometro – celebrating its 10th anniversary last year.

The Manometro, which means “pressure gauge”, has since become a symbol for the “Made in Italy” label. Part of the success of the collection can be attributed to its “every day” design; after all the watch was inspired by a tire pressure gauge.

The watch was the result of a unique creation process. For brand founder Giuliano Mazzuoli, creations are not developed through study and research, but they are simply “encountered” in every day life. Leave it to an Italian to have such a nonchalant approach to watch development, but the process definitely works.

His passion for watchmaking actually goes much deeper than that. In reality, the successful Manometro was an effort to recapture a family legacy of watchmaking, passed down from an ancestor who constructed tower clocks in the Chianti area of Tuscany.

That passion has been recently revisited with two new variations to his first creation. The Manometro is now available in blue and green dials, a bold and refreshing update to the original ivory and black coloured dials. The choice of green is meant to symbolize hope and positivity, while the blue evokes the infinity of the sky.

The concept for the watch remains the same, essentialist and clean. It sports a relatively large case in polished stainless steel with the crown at 2 o’clock. It’s paired with a natural hand-made Florentine leather strap from Tuscany, which is integrated into the case.

Over a decade since it’s introduction, the Manometro remains as true to the DNA of Mazzuoli as ever. Now we can appreciate it with a pop of extra colour, too. And we expect nothing less from an inspiring and surging Italian brand.
