Abraham-Louis Breguet first established himself in Paris in 1775 but returned to his native Switzerland to escape the French revolution. His clients included Napoleon Bonaparte and Marie-Antoinette and he became the watchmaker of reference to the political, scientific and military elite of the age.
For over 200 years, Breguet watches have epitomised classic design with some of the most significant innovations in the industry, including the tourbillon and the first wristwatch. The brand’s collection has evolved to include such modern classics as the Breguet Marine and Type XX models.
The Breguet watch company was purchased by the Swatch Group in 1999.
