The Rado watch company was born from the Schlup & Co. clockwork factory, which was founded in 1917 in the small Swiss town of Lengnau. Exactly 40 years later, it became Rado Uhren AG. Today Rado is a company of the Swatch Group.
The classic Original Rado was the first scratch-proof watch to be launched on the market in 1962 and the company has since followed with many more high-tech developments. The use of special high-tech ceramics in particular has become one of Rado’s distinguishing features.
