his new timepiece by Akhor is a highly personal interpretation of the Day/Night complication, one that combines technical ingenuity with artisanal métiers d’art and a narrative rooted in cultural identity.
“Nour” – the Arabic word for light – evokes an inner, enduring glow, a guiding presence carried through darkness. For Anissa Bader, Founder and CEO of Akhor, the concept resonates on a deeply personal level. Raised within a culture where language carries layers of history and symbolism, she has long viewed light as a source of direction – an invisible thread linking decisions, creativity and ambition.
That vision lies at the heart of Akhor. It also gives this latest creation its name. Hidden within the case, discreetly hand-engraved in Arabic script, appears the word نور, a subtle tribute to the founder’s heritage and an intimate signature woven into the watch itself.
The 40mm Nour La Lumière builds upon Akhor’s patented two-disc construction by introducing a third rotating element. Positioned beneath the hands and suspended dial, a large hand-engraved disc in gold or platinum completes one full rotation every 24 hours, depicting the transition between day and night. As it turns, it reveals a miniature landscape inspired by desert horizons and celestial cycles, transforming the display into a moving tableau.
Powering the watch is the AK10 calibre, presented in two interpretations: 18k 5N gold or platinum. Both versions are set with 120 baguette-cut diamonds and carry a rare combination of distinctions, including the Poinçon de Genève, COSC certification and certification from the Observatoire Chronométrique de Genève.
