CIGA Design Hunter Tourbillon Watch: the highest expression of the hunt

Following Blue Planet’s recognition at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG), the “Oscars of watchmaking,” CIGA design opens its 2026 Hunter expansion with a new flagship that pushes the line into a more elevated mechanical tier.

ot every hunt announces itself in motion. Some begin in what remains after excess falls away: a line held, a form resolved, a presence sharpened by clarity. Hunter Tourbillon enters there. Launched on April 30, it leads the 2026 expansion of CIGA design’s Hunter line as its first and highest expression yet – not a break from the original, but its ascent into a more rarefied class. Where the 2025 Hunter established the line’s silhouette and breakout appeal, this new model lifts the idea upward through material, movement and a disciplined sense of exposure.

The original Hunter proved that CIGA design’s tonneau-shaped skeleton watch could carry force on the wrist. Hunter Tourbillon builds on that foundation by reworking the concept into something finer: a leaner Grade 5 titanium case, a more resolved skeleton layout, and a self-developed hand-wound tourbillon movement that gives the line a stronger mechanical centre. The result feels less like a variant than a watch designed to raise the ceiling for everything that follows in the Hunter family.

At the heart of the watch is Caliber CD-011, a self-developed skeleton tourbillon movement with twin barrels, a 72-hour power reserve, and a front-to-back architecture that reveals its structure from both sides. On the dial, six open-worked bridges radiate from the barrel centres, their inner cutouts shaped like hunting blades. Below, a large aperture grants the tourbillon visual priority, while eleven polished hour markers with Swiss Super-LumiNova keep the display legible without disturbing its balance. Turn the watch over and the same calibre opens in a different register, with brushed surfaces and brighter chamfers deepening the sense of mechanical drama.
