RGM Watch Company Model 151 “Snoopy Flying Ace”: a refined pilot-style timepiece

The dial’s artwork – including Snoopy, his red doghouse and surrounding clouds – are fired into enamel, creating a miniature work of art.

F

ounded in 1992 by American watchmaker Roland G. Murphy, RGM produces approximately 400 watches annually, many of them bespoke. The Snoopy Flying Ace theme, drawn from Charles M. Schulz’s enduring Peanuts legacy, is a natural fit for the aviation-inspired Model 151.

The watch features Snoopy in his iconic World War I Flying Ace persona, believed to be the first depiction of the character executed on a true grand feu enamel dial. A light blue metal dial variant is also available, offering a more accessible interpretation of the design.

The 151 models are housed in a 38.5mm case in either stainless steel or titanium, machined near RGM’s Pennsylvania workshop and hand-finished in-house. The thin bezel and large dial are hallmarks of the 151 models; in fact, the dial is larger than for watches of a much greater size. Powering the Model 151 is the Swiss-made RGM-Sellita SW300-1 automatic movement, featuring a rhodium-plated finish, decorative Côtes de Genève and perlage, and a 52–56 hour power reserve.
