ontblanc’s latest Geosphere takes its mountain theme into the material of the watch itself. The Mount Elbrouz edition incorporates volcanic ash into its case middle, connecting the construction to the dormant volcano that gives this model its name.
The composite combines ash, aluminised basalt fibres, calcium carbonate and a resin containing 30% vegetable matter. Titanium completes the case, which measures 43.5mm across and 13mm thick. Montblanc’s 0 Oxygen technology removes oxygen from the interior, an approach intended to reduce condensation during abrupt temperature changes.
A white-to-brown sfumato dial overlays the collection’s glacier pattern. Cathedral hands and Arabic numerals preserve the Geosphere’s vintage vocabulary, while contrasting luminous colours distinguish its displays: orange for the main hands and markers, blue for the continents and second-time-zone hand.
The automatic MB 29.25 calibre provides approximately 42 hours of power reserve. Two rotating hemispheres indicate world time, accompanied by a second-time-zone display at 9 o’clock and a date at 3. Both hour hands adjust independently in one-hour increments, allowing local time to change without disturbing the reference time.
Elbrouz appears twice on the exterior: as a laser-rendered image on the titanium back and a luminous outline on the case flank. Water resistance is 100 metres. Two rubber straps, in ivory and light brown, feature a rope-inspired texture. Limited to 829 pieces, the edition continues Montblanc’s exploration of the Seven Summits, following Mount Vinson in 2025.
