Horage Supersede Date: surpass the past

Supersede Date is the next chapter in the All-Terrain Supersede lineage, featuring Horage’s slim, sporty Swiss in-house micro-rotor calibre.

B

uilding on the modularity of the K2 micro-rotor, the focus for the Supersede Date was to break away from the classic three-hand with date function. Given that the Horage community and the brand’s designers loved the jump hour set function of the Supersede GMT, Horage decided to incorporate this feature into the hour hand of the Supersede Date.

The function is ideal for globetrotters, allowing the wearer to quickly adjust the hour hand to the destination time without interrupting the running seconds and minute hands. Complementing the Jump Hour Set function is the Big Date at three o’clock with Quick Date Adjust: simply turn the crown counter clockwise to swiftly adjust the date.

The dial design of the Supersede Date draws inspiration from the allure of warm, deep waters. The result is two meticulously crafted dials: Cenote Blue and Black Coral. The former echoes the blue sun rays seen in the many crystal-clear cenotes of the Yucatán Peninsula, while the latter is inspired by the deep-water corals of the Caribbean, which are transformed into what is known as black coral when crafted into jewellery.

Horage also sets a high bar when it comes to the use of premium materials. 904L stainless steel, prized over 316L for its superior resistance to stress, pitting and corrosion, is utilised throughout the design, starting with the bi-directional rotating timing bezel. A mix of highly polished, brushed and matte textured surfaces not only add aesthetic appeal, they also enhance legibility and provide a better grip on the bezel. The integrated 904L stainless steel bracelet with micro-adjustment buckle is the perfect finishing touch.

Horage Supersede Date: surpass the past

The Supersede Date is powered by the in-house Chronometer Certified K2 calibre. Despite being just 3.6 mm thick and powered by a single barrel, the K2 provides over 72 hours of power reserve and can be fitted with either a tungsten or platinum rotor. Thanks to advanced material science and proprietary technology, Horage is one of the first independents to offer a silicon hairspring, escape wheel and anchor. The combination enhances overall movement efficiency, isochronism and resistance to magnetic fields.

Price: CHF 4,900 (pre-order), then CHF 5,500 (from November)
