very victory is about timing. Behind every champion, there is a number that identifies, accompanies, brings luck and becomes a legend in itself. Every Time to race follows the same idea. It features a unique number – the famous Lucky Number – chosen by its owner.
Flash takes this concept a step further. For the first time, two editions will be available, one in grade 5 titanium, and the other in 18 ct red gold. The rule, however, remains the same: Each number will be assigned only once per edition.
What immediately distinguishes this new timepiece are its contrasting colours. The Flash combines a matt graphite with a golden shade evoking the hue of the gear trains in watches, a combination inherited from the golden age of the Grand Prix.
The off-centre black dial immediately draws the eye with its famous Lucky Number displayed in white. The chronograph architecture asserts itself with strength around this display. Smoked sapphire counters add more contrast and depth, while the woven carbon fibre plate suggests the kind of cutting-edge engineering native to the world of motorsports.
Two triangular spaces in the same matt graphite tone anchor the dial and structure the composition, enhancing the piece’s visual dynamism.
The golden tone also appears on the first quarter of the tachymeter scale, on the metal flange surrounding the dial — its design inspired by the cylinder bores of racecar engines — as well as on two visible screws that reinforce the mechanical character of the ensemble. The remarkable hue also adorns the hour and minute hands and accentuates the central seconds hand and those of the counters, bringing a luminous touch to the composition.
The Time to race Flash focuses on mechanical efficiency and performance optimisation, drawing a natural parallel with the world of motor racing.
The case is available in grade 5 titanium and 18 ct red gold. It sets the tone with an architecture born of cutting-edge technology. Its taut, aerodynamic lines endow it with an uncompromising style. It is topped by a sapphire dome, a technical feat, offering a panoramic view of the column-wheel mechanism on the dial.
The flanks feature a crown guard, while the openworked, curved and satin-finished lugs extend the case with controlled fluidity.
With the Time to race Flash, every press on the monopusher triggers a fascinating mechanical choreography. Rocker, clutch, hammers, column wheel, springs and gears come to life fluidly, activating the chronograph and the measurement of time.
This exceptional calibre required 147 components for the upper section, which is dedicated to the chronograph, and 164 for the lower section, home to the automatic movement.
On the movement side, the calibre reveals an oscillating weight with a distinctive signature. Openworked and treated in matt black, it contrasts with the silvery rhodium-plated components behind it. The spectacle plays out on both sides.
