V...like Versace

March 2004

About ten years ago, Versace started diversifying its activities with varying degrees of success, notably into the watch arena. In this sector, the brand, after having had a debut that at least aroused great curiosity, traversed many situations that have compromised its position. Collections were launched. Great projects were announced but, following internal differences, the strategies changed, making the watchmaking presence of Versace fairly random. Today, the family brand, symbolized by the medusa, is re-launching a collection of watches largely denoted by its famous logo. Immediately recognizable, the symbol of the medusa makes up a major part of the rather flamboyant style and decoration of Versace. The strong colours give a very fashionable look to the watches, which complete the panoply of accessories of the Italian brand.
