Bell & Ross for pilots & divers

June 2003

The latest models from one of the very few highly specialized manufacturers of watches for professionals.

Since the creation of Bell & Ross in 1990, the company has specialized in the creation of watches for professionals. Needless to say, it wasn't too long before the consumer began to appreciate not only the elegant robustness of their appearance, but also the four fundamental principles to which the brand adheres: readability, performance, precision and water-resistance.

As early as 1994, Bell & Ross introduced a re-edition of the first automatic chronograph worn in space by a German astronaut. A couple of years later, at the request of the French Security Service, the Type Démineur was produced according to operational bomb disposal specifications. In '77 the 1940s style Vintage Collection came on the market and remains to this day Bell & Ross's best-seller. 1999 saw the launch of the Space 3 with its special T-Crown system and two years ago at the Basel Fair two complications, a jumping hour and a chronograph with annual date, designed by Vincent Calabrese, were introduced. The Hydromax followed a year later and appears in the Guinness Book of Records since it holds the world water-resistance record of 11,100 metres.

Basel 2003
This year Bell & Ross has treated us to three new models in the Classic Collection: The Pilot Acrylic (water-resistant to 100 metres) and the Pilot Sapphire (water-resistant to 200 metres) and the Diver 300. Inspired by the aviator's watches of the 1950s, the new Pilot models with their self-winding mechanical movements have that much admired and sought after look of aviation chronographs and offer all the technical requirements and precision expected. The Diver 300 is also a mechanical chronograph, but with a unidirectional, scaled bezel it is the ideal companion for deep-sea diving enthusiasts.

In addition to these new models, a new version of the Bell & Ross Space 3 chronograph in titanium was presented. Faithful to the original, this professional chronograph with day/date apertures at 3 o'clock, sports a new, elegant minimalist 'striped' pattern bracelet.
