Fashion designer John Varvatos joins forces with Swiss watch company Ernst Benz

September 2006

John Varvatos, an avid watch collector, personally selects Ernst Benz as ‘the’ timepiece for his Spring 2007 fashion show. Beginning in mid-September a series of Ernst Benz timepieces, which were hand chosen by Varvatos, will be available for purchase at the John Varvatos store located at 122 Spring Street in New York’s trendy SoHo district. Ernst Benz has been receiving great recognition from the luxury watch industry, lifestyle and fashion media. The watch brand was recently featured on America’s E! Entertainment channel as one of the hottest accessories for men.

Functional and timeless, Ernst Benz has optimized legibility and precision, which has translated into a unique collection of technically exceptional timepieces recalling the aviator watches from the 1940’s, from which they are inspired. Designed and manufactured in Switzerland, Ernst Benz Watches are known for their large size and aesthetics.

Leonid Khankin, Chief Creative Officer and Managing Director of the Ernst Benz brand, is deeply passionate about the timepieces that his family-owned company manufactures. Khankin says, “As a Master Watchmaker, I admire John Varvatos’s attention to detail, along with his individualistic and personal approach to design.” Khankin ensures that all Ernst Benz timepieces are built to exacting criteria and without compromise, in the traditional Swiss style, yielding the highest quality of precision timepieces.

During Olympus Fashion Week, Ernst Benz Timepieces will be paired with select looks at the John Varvatos Spring 2007 fashion show which will be held at 7pm on September 11th, at The Promenade at Bryant Park in New York.
