Strom Cruizer: Rolf Knie Limited Edition

November 2008

Daniel Strom returns to the public eye to launch a line of watches designed with Rolf Knie based on the Cruizer, a typical model, neither round nor square. In tribute to the world of the circus, Rolf Knie has called his creations Panem et Circensis (bread and games). However one searches in vain for images of the circus on the Cruizer - Rolf Knie has expressed his artistic talent by stylising on the dial elements of the watch’s interior.

Unusual as they may be on a watch, the words Panem et Circensis, engraved on the case near the push-pieces, go very well with this elegant and sporty design. The lettering, covering the space between the push-pieces, forms a seemingly inseparable entity. This watch with its resolutely modern character is available in black or in stainless-steel with a bezel set with 46 dark quartz crystals. Each model is produced in a limited edition of 365 pieces.

The slightly curved stainless-steel case is very comfortable to wear and is water-resistant up to 50 metres. A glare-proof and scratchproof sapphire crystal protects the counters, each of which has mother-of-pearl surrounding the watch, and the luminescent hands. A Swiss quartz chronograph movement ensures the precision of both models, which are made wholly irresistible by the addition of a perforated leather strap with folding clasp.
