Antiquorum held a highly competitive and extremely successful auction of Important Collectors' Wristwatches, Pocket Watches & Clocks on Thursday, September 17th in New York resulting in two world records and the remarkable sum of $ 9,214,974.

The competitive bidding for the exceptional Matsuda Collection of extraordinary Patek Philippe wristwatches was unquestionably the highlight of the sale. The rare Patek Philippes stirred tremendous excitement in the sale room and on the internet. Impressive results were attained for each of the three wristwatches. The platinum Ref. 5013 (lot 412) achieved $564,000; while the Ref. 5016 in platinum (lot 413) fetched $780,000, a world record for the reference. Finally, the Ref. 3939 in platinum (lot 414) sold for $ 684,000, another world record for that reference.

SEIKO Spring Drive Spacewalk was sold for 45'600 USD at this auction
Seiko also faired extremely well in the sale with the GMT Spring Drive Spacewalk. The extraordinary watch that was made in a limited edition of 6 pieces especially for the 12 day Space Mission “Soyuz TMA-13” and worn by Private Space Explorer and renowned Video Game Designer, Richard Garriott sold for an incredible $ 45,600.
