Creating a classic inevitably leads to the challenge of finding suitable successors to the original: in the new models of the Grand Classic line, the North German watchmaking company which originated in Glashütte has upheld its principle of delivering maximum functionality.
The new Grand Classic Black Chronograph PR can cope with anything that comes its way, thanks to the use of cutting-edge technology. Case and bracelet have a black coating which is largely resistant to shocks and scratches: to begin with, the stainless steel undergoes a special process to harden it far below the surface layer.
It is then given a coating of ultra-hard PVD (physical vapor deposition) as extra protection. This sturdiness, the clarity of the instrumentation and the reliability of the power reserve display all make this chronograph the perfect companion for turbulent times; and if the power reserve should start to dwindle, all it takes is a few shakes of the wrist and the painstakingly modified Swiss self-winding Valjoux 7750 movement produces new energy.
The new Grand Classic Reserve appears at first glance to be a typical, familiar Tutima classic, based on the design of the legendary historic Tutima aviation chronograph. However, closer inspection reveals that the stainless steel case has been revamped: the large polished sections of the fluted rotating bezel and the characteristic red marker at the twelve combine timelessly elegant design with optimum readability.
The ETA 2892-A2/Tutima movement with power reserve display and big date signifies technical sophistication and perfect orientation. These new models have been designed with high-flyers in mind and guarantee top performance. What’s more, with a case diameter of 43 mm they show true greatness in any situation.
