GoS presents “Spring”, the third model in the brand’s Nordic Seasons series of watches. Made in tempered pattern-welded steel (one of the modern methods of producing what is known historically as Damascus steel) that has been hand-forged in the “explosion” pattern of Johan Gustafsson (the “G” in GoS watches, the “S” being Patrik Sjögren), the yellow tempering colour of the steel recalls the return of the sun in the Scandinavian spring, which, for obvious reasons, is an important moment in the Scandinavian year.

The Nordic series builds on the distinctive GoS case shape but is the first collection to use a case in Damascus steel. An oversize bezel and crown in polished steel mirror the finish of the Damascus steel around the 44.5mm case diameter. The sword-shaped hands from the Stockholm model are used, made in solid gold, the shade of which is selected to match the colour scheme of the dial. A soft black nubuck strap was chosen to complete the watch, since its matte surface matches best with the finish on the Damascus steel. The index ring is in a matching shade of sold gold.
The “Spring” model is fitted with a manually-wound ETA calibre 6498 that has been adapted to chronometer standard by Soprod in Switzerland.
