Three stone jewelry
Three stone jewelry has been the theme of several DPS (the US advertising branch of De Beers) advertising campaigns last year including the print advertisement 'Your Past, Your Present & Your Future'. It was also the theme of on-line company french-spirit.com's design competition, Trilogy. The design contest which ran throughout 2001, finished with a Trilogy jewelry exhibition at the famous Paris department store Le Printemps. For 2002, french-spirit.com will continue its collaboration with De Beers and Le Printemps taking the Trilogy Exhibition on the road to all le Printemps stores throughout France.

International Gemologicat Institute (IGI) on the move in Asia
After launching its gemological school in 2000 in Seoul, South Korea and a certification laboratory in Tokyo in 2001, IGI moved to Shanghai, China last May with numerous course offerings on diamonds. The IGI courses, which are subsidized by the Chinese Government, include 3 rough diamond and 2 polished diamond-grading courses. China's diamond market has continued to grow since 1993 and is expected to reach 18 billion U.S. dollars by 2010. For 2002, IGI plans to extend its academic syllabus and at the same time open new IGI centers in other Chinese cities.

For the latest news and figures concerning Israel's diamond sector, visit the new site by the Israel Diamond Institute (I.D.I.), a non-profit, public interest organization. The primary tasks of I.D.I. include technology R&D; marketing development, business promotion and public relations, certification of diamonds; promotion of rough trading, vocational trading, and advice on security issues (primarily for factories). I.D.I. also sponsors the Israel Diamond Technology Center, which promotes R&D in diamond technology, joint-venture projects and identifies and regulates guidelines for the research and testing of new technologies.
