Raymond Weil Othello

July 2001

Raymond Weil in Vienna

On 22 May, RAYMOND WEIL presented its new Othello collection amid the Gothic splendour of Vienna's City Hall. Over 650 people representing international distributors, Austrian retailers and the national press attended this gala evening.

A choreography of the Vienna opera ballet's best solo dancers, accompanied by elegant models, provided a graceful and highly modern illustration of the Othello line.

Othello is constructed from an extremely strong convex sapphire glass, and plays on the reflections of the dial's black background and its midnight blue bezel. Its two vertical lines break up the continuity of the glass, yet harmoniously maintain the integrity of a one-piece design. The Othello line comes in four versions: a man's watch, a lady's watch, a miniature lady's watch and an automatic version engraved by RAYMOND WEIL “aux côtes de Genève”.

The event reached its climax with the concert given by BOND, the new pop group whose repertoire is based on classical music. BOND is one of the rare virtuosos of our time whose debut album “born” has already sold 1 million copies worldwide.
RAYMOND WEIL has concluded a partnership agreement with BOND which is destined to strengthen the watchmaker's musical vocation in the future. The four girls who make up BOND possess an extraordinary musical past, and treated Vienna to an outstanding performance, translating into an explosive encounter between classical and contemporary music, impregnated with a subtle hint of impertinence.

This event was painstakingly and impeccably organised by Laimer & Co., represented by Mr Herbert Laimer, the RAYMOND WEIL distributor for Austria.
