Glitter was the rule rather than the exception at the fabled Moulin Rouge nightclub, but in the newest film depicting this club, the ice is real. For the first time, a “real” diamond necklace was created epecially for a movie. Australian designer Stefano Canturi designed and produced a spectacular piece for fellow aussie Nicole Kidman, who stars as Satine, also the name of the necklace. Set at the end of the 19th century, the new movie captures the elegance and romance at the famous club. According to the plot, the necklace was presented to Satine by a royal admirer in 1899.
