Japy: 230 years of watchmaking

The Japy house was founded in 1771 by FrÉdÉric Japy, native of MontbÉliard, France, whose genius was to manufacture timepieces by developing and using innovative techniques. Indeed, FrÉdÉric Japy patented 10 machines dedicated to the manufacturing of watch movements. He anticipated the methods and techniques of watchmaking, so much so that his fame grew outside of France to reach the court of Czar Paul of Russia.

To commemorate the 200th anniversary of FrÉdÉric Japy's first 10 patents of invention, the Japy house, relaunched in the year 2000 proposes a limited edition of 200 sets. Each set is identified by its own serial number from 001/200 to 200/200, engraved on :

- the automatic module caseback,

- the alarm module caseback,

- the giftcase,

- the guaranty card,

- the certificate of authenticity
