This unique creation has been given a unique dial, hand-engraved on a solid gold plate. The primary purpose is to display the seven days of the week as they glide past the diamond placed at 12 o’clock. The cultural inspiration is drawn from mythology and its pantheon of divinities. From Sunday to Saturday: Helios, the sun god; Selena, the moon goddess; Mars, the god of war; Mercury; the traveller’s guide; Jupiter, ruler of the heavens; Venus, goddess of love; and finally Saturn, the god of agriculture.
This exceptional work of art, graced by a finely cut-out hour hand and a discreet minute hand, draws much of its subtlety and majesty from its contrasting colours: red gold for the dial, white gold for the case, blue gold for the flange and glowing leather for the strap with its white gold buckle. Svend Andersen has placed his signature on the front, among the divinities, and on the back, alongside Goldpfeil, on an ultra-thin hand-wound Frédéric Piguet movement to which he has added his artist’s touch.
