Throughout its history, Credor has introduced a range of iconic timepieces, including the Eichi II, the Goldfeather, and the Locomotive. Each creation stands as a testament to the words that guide Credor watchmaking: “The Creativity of Artisans.” As Credor enters a new chapter in its history, it remains steadfast in the pursuit of the highest expression of quality and beauty in fine watchmaking.

Shinji Hattori, Chairman, CEO, and CCO of Seiko Watch Corporation, commented: “To showcase Credor on a global stage at Watches and Wonders Geneva has been a long-held aspiration of mine. Credor Milestones

1974 The first Credor watch is introduced, marking the brand’s commitment to achieving the pinnacle of beauty in watchmaking. Crafted with precious metals, it embodies the elegance and refinement that would become Credor’s hallmark.

1979 The original Locomotive, designed by the legendary Gérald Genta, is unveiled. Its name, meaning “driving force” in French, is a reflection of Genta’s vision of propelling Credor into the future.

1993 The first watch featuring the ultra-thin mechanical Caliber 6870 is introduced. This time-only movement measures just 1.98 mm in thickness.

1996 A skeletonized watch is created featuring Caliber 6899, a mechanical movement whose design evokes bamboo. By fusing Western and Japanese engraving techniques, the watch achieves a uniquely radiant expression – balancing artistic beauty with mechanical sophistication.

2006 The Spring Drive Sonnerie marks the passage of time with the beautifully resonant chime of an orin bell incorporated in the movement. The orin bell, used in traditional Japanese temples, creates a distinctive tone and lingering resonance to evoke a sense of space and serenity, expressing a refined aesthetic sensibility.

2008 Widely known as Eichi I, the watch takes its name from the Japanese word for ’wisdom.’ It features a quietly radiant porcelain dial and introduces a world-first innovation in the Caliber 7R08: the Torque Return System, which recovers energy that would otherwise be lost from its mainspring, thereby extending the power reserve.

2016 The Fugaku, which features one of the world’s smallest hand-wound tourbillon movements for the time, expresses Japan’s dynamic yet delicate aesthetic sensibility by fusing original engraving techniques with advanced lacquer artistry.

2024 In celebrating 50 years since Credor’s birth, this special limited edition symbolizes the brand’s unwavering pursuit of ultimate beauty. Four different layers of intricate engraving artistically capture the beauty of flowing water.
