Marteau & Co's upcoming auction “The Heat Wave”, June 10 - 17

Marteau & Co announces “The Heat Wave”, an online auction taking place from June 10–17, dedicated to some of the rarest and most coveted timepieces crafted by the world’s leading independent watchmakers.

F

ollowing the success of “The Echo”, its second auction held in March 2026, Marteau & Co continues to establish itself as a serious force in the global watch market. “The Echo” set multiple world records, realizing CHF 2.75 million (USD 3.5 million) across 29 timepieces, an 80% increase from its inaugural auction.

What makes The Heat Wave especially significant is the extraordinary number of unique pieces consigned to the sale. The auction includes more than a dozen unique watches and prototypes, with estimates ranging from CHF 500 to CHF 600,000, reflecting the breadth and diversity of independent watchmaking today.

Highlights of the auction include two unique models from Kari Voutilainen, including a Piece Unique Regulator Decimal Repeater in yellow gold and a Unique 28SC in stainless steel; a Piece Unique Antiqua in pink gold from Vianney Halter; and unique pieces from De Bethune, Laurent Ferrier, and Pascal Coyon, just to name a few.

Carefully curated, The Heat Wave offers collectors a rare opportunity to acquire some of the most coveted and elusive contemporary timepieces created by independent watchmakers from across the globe, spanning Japan, Australia, France, China, Germany, Switzerland and beyond.

Speaking about the curation of the catalogue, Arthur Touchot, CEO and co-founder of Marteau & Co, said: “We believe independent watchmaking deserves a different kind of auction house. Staying small allows us to focus on quality, on relationships, and on the people behind the watches, rather than just the numbers.”

The full catalogue for The Heat Wave will be available online from June 3 at 2PM CET.
