he GPHG concluded the second stop of its world tour on an extremely positive note. Hosted at the cultural space The Forum at Gaysorn Amarin from 15 to 18 October, this exclusive presentation attracted considerable interest from collectors, enthusiasts and watch lovers who came to admire the timepieces nominated by the GPHG Academy.
The event was officially inaugurated by the President of the Swiss Confederation, Guy Parmelin, in the presence of His Excellency Fabrice Filliez, Ambassador of Switzerland to Thailand, highlighting the cultural reach and economic importance of watchmaking internationally. The strong attendance from the local community confirms Bangkok’s role as a key hub for watchmaking passion in Asia.
Raymond Loretan, President of the GPHG Foundation, stated: “The presence of the President of the Swiss Confederation, Guy Parmelin, honoured the GPHG and the entire watchmaking community gathered in Bangkok. We extend our sincere thanks to him for demonstrating his support for the international reach of the art of watchmaking. This stop illustrated the GPHG’s universal mission: to bring together, beyond borders, talents and enthusiasts around creativity, craftsmanship and excellence. Our gratitude also goes to the Embassy of Switzerland and our partner PMT The Hour Glass, whose commitment fully contributed to the success of this exhibition.”
On their way to Geneva, the nominated timepieces will take up residence in the galleries of the Musée d’Art et d’Histoire (MAH) from 29 October to 15 November.
The announcement of the prize winners is drawing near: on Saturday, 7 November, 19 prizes — including the prestigious “Aiguille d’Or” Grand Prix — will be awarded during the 26th official ceremony at the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices in Geneva. The evening will be broadcast live from 6:30 p.m. CET on the official website, gphg.org.
