Frederique Constant launches new movement

April 2009

Frédérique Constant

Five years ago, the Frederique Constant brand successfully launched its first in-house movement. Today, it launches its second Calibre.

In 2004, Frederique Constant joined the elite group of Swiss watch brands that develop and produce movements in-house. The successful introduction of the Frederique Constant Heart Beat Manufacture was a giant leap for this youthful and innovative Geneva-based brand, but a leap that ensured not only its independence, but also gave the brand credibility within the trade and industry.
Originality has always been the trademark of Frederique Constant and in keeping with its additional philosophy of offering a high quality, innovative timepiece at an accessible price, the brand now launches its new and elegant Maxime Manufacture Automatic. With this all-new, in-house manufactured FC-700 Calibre, the brand underlines its level of sophistication in the field of technical know-how and movement production.
At the same time, the Frederique Constant Maxime Manufacture shows an evolution in terms of design. Based on the design language of the brand, a brand new case design has been created, combining straight lines with rounded surfaces, requiring many hours of specialized hand-polishing. The combination of mat and polished case parts, a silvered, guillochÉ dial and an integrated alligator strap results in a collection of classical yet contemporary timepieces, radiating a sober but elegant style.

The Maxime Manufacture Automatic
This elegant and refined looking timepiece is in polished and fine brushed stainless steel (42 mm) and is equipped with the new FC-700 Maxime Manufacture Automatic calibre with date at 6 o’clock and a 42-hour power reserve.
The silvered dial has a guillochÉ decoration with hand polished shiny black Arabic numerals and applied indices, hand polished luminous black hands. There is a convex sapphire crystal and see-through caseback secured by 4 screws. The watch is water-resistant to 50 metres and it comes with an alligator strap, stainless steel deployment buckle and water-resistant inner lining.
