A

s its name suggests, Emile Chouriet’s Challenger Cliff collection is inspired by the alpine landscape and the adventurous spirit of mountain climbers. For its latest addition to the line, the brand looked towards the stars with a new edition of the model crafted with a genuine meteorite dial.

The centerpiece of this cosmically inspired watch is its dial. Crafted from a meteor that has voyaged from the outer reaches of our solar system to Earth, the grey meteorite dial features a naturally formed crystalline pattern exhibiting different hues of silvery-grey darker anthracite. Meticulously cut and polished by hand by skilled artisans to bring out its stellar beauty, each dial is essentially unique, as no two dials will exhibit the same pattern.

Enhancing the legibility, faceted luminescent hour markers and wide hands in a mix of polished and matte finished surfaces and two lines filled with SuperLumiNova stand out against the dial, day and night.

Inspired by the jagged and majestic mountain peaks of the Swiss Alps, the Challenger Cliff’s 41mm steel case is coated in dark grey PVD to evoke the vast darkness of the night sky and the cosmos beyond and contrast strikingly against the meteorite dial. Its highly geometric lines with pronounced edges give the watch a decidedly rugged look matching its performance.

The model’s water-resistance of 5 ATM (50 meters) ensures durability in any condition. Completing the look, the integrated steel bracelet seamlessly follows the lines of the case, with a sleek vertical satin-finish and polished edges.

The Challenger Cliff is powered by a Swiss automatic movement, delivering a power reserve of 38 hours when fully wound and visible through the sapphire display back.
