he Quantième Collection was born from a simple question: can complicated calendars be made effortless? After two years of dedicated research and development, the answer emerges in the form of the new Caliber 595 - a movement conceived to eliminate the pitfalls traditionally associated with complex indications.
Where most calendar watches demand manuals and long adjustments, the Quantième introduces an intuitive system: time and date set via the crown, and two smooth case-band pushers to adjust day and month directly. Even in the event of user error, the caliber’s ingenious safety device ensures the watch automatically corrects itself - sidestepping costly trips back to the manufacturer.
One of the greatest triumphs of the Quantième is readability. The dial has been entirely re-architected to follow a natural sequence: hours, minutes, and seconds flow from top to bottom, while day, date, and month align from left to right. Enlarged apertures enhance legibility, transforming what is often a cluttered display into one of balance and harmony.
In another bold move, the case redefines platinum watchmaking. Constructed from Pt950 platinum reinforced by a thin but highly durable 904L steel layer, the design achieves the best of both worlds: the nobility and heft of platinum, combined with the resilience and peace of mind of steel. This layered concept, consisting of six removable components, also ensures serviceability across generations - a rare nod to longevity in modern watchmaking.
At the center of the collection lies the all-new Caliber 595, a technical achievement distinguished by its “cross architecture.” With double regulation - one system dedicated to timekeeping, the other to the calendar - the movement orchestrates a complex ballet of instantaneous jumps. On December 31st, for instance, five indications leap simultaneously at midnight, powered by energy stored across four reservoirs calibrated to different cycles (12 hours, 24 hours, 7 days, and 31 days).
Despite this formidable complexity, the movement remains elegantly proportioned at 30mm by 5.95mm, offering 100 hours of power reserve and meticulous finishing: black polishing, guillochage, anglage, and traditional traits tirés.
Ultimately, the Quantième Collection seeks to free collectors from the anxieties of complicated watch ownership. No longer a delicate treasure to admire behind glass, it is a complication meant to be worn, adjusted, and lived with daily. Its blend of intuitive mechanics, material innovation, and technical audacity represents not only the evolution of the annual calendar, but a vision of what contemporary high horology can and should be.
This is more than a watch. It is a statement: the future of complications must serve both beauty and practicality.
