he Type 1 Round Rose Gold combines the essential, crownless design of Ressence’s much-loved TYPE 1° watch with the warm sophistication of rose-gold plating, in a limited-edition release launching at Dubai Watch Week.

“Rose gold brings a certain warmth and character to our design language,” explains Benoît Mintiens, founder of Ressence, whose Antwerp-based brand has now made multiple successful iterations of this design, following the launch of the original Type 1 in 2014.

Limited to 70 pieces, the made-in-Switzerland Type 1 Round Rose Gold introduces an emotional warmth to Ressence’s purist design language, offering collectors a refined statement of contemporary elegance.

The launch at Dubai Watch Week 2025, taking place from November 19 to 23, marks a significant moment for Ressence in a region that has become a global hub for horology.

“The Type 1 has always been about making complexity feel intuitive,” adds Mintiens of a design that replaces traditional watch hands with rotating discs.

On the Type 1 Round Rose Gold, the convex dial’s 4N rose-gold plating creates a warm luminescence that enhances the watch’s organic character. Three flush, inclined discs display hours, seconds, and day of the week, with engraved indications filled with Grade A Super-LumiNova®.

At the heart of the design lies Ressence’s cutting-edge and patented ROCS 1.3 (Ressence Orbital Convex System) module, driven by the minute axle of a customised 2892 base calibre, featuring revolving discs that display time in a bi-dimensional layout.

The rose-gold plating provides the dial with a soft, copper-toned luminescence. Cool silver subdials create visual clarity, while white minute markers ensure legibility.

A light grey suede strap completes the composition, lightening the overall aesthetic and allowing the dial’s warmth to command attention.

“The grey strap was deliberate,” notes Mintiens. “We wanted something that would complement the rose gold without competing with it; something that felt modern and versatile.”

For the US market, the Type 1 Round Rose Gold features an exclusive dark chocolate brown leather strap; a richer, more traditional pairing that delivers classic warmth.

The TYPE 1 Round Rose Gold is limited to 70 pieces and will be available from 19 November 2025 via Ressence’s select retailers worldwide and e-shop at CHF 18’150 (excluding taxes).
