he BR-X3 Micro-Rotor adopts the 40 mm BR-03 case and its four signature screws - foundational elements of Bell & Ross’ visual DNA since the creation of the iconic “circle within a square” in 2005. But in this piece, the square goes far beyond visual identity. It becomes structure.
Unlike conventional watches, where the movement is simply housed inside a case, the BR-X3 Micro-Rotor fuses the two. The square case middle directly serves as the supporting structure for the movement’s bridges: case and calibre become one.
This radical construction relies on only three components: a central steel plate forming the case-movement block, an upper sapphire crystal, and a lower sapphire crystal. The result is complete transparency and minimalist architecture where nothing is superfluous - everything is essential.
At the heart of the BR-X3 Micro-Rotor beats a manufacture automatic calibre with micro-rotor, designed by the Bell & Ross teams. The technical choice is far from incidental. Unlike a traditional oscillating weight positioned above the movement, the micro-rotor is integrated within the thickness of the calibre itself.
It delivers equivalent winding performance while significantly optimising the overall slimness - total thickness is contained to just 9mm - and, above all, fully revealing the mechanics. The movement features 29 jewels, a 48-hour power reserve, and is covered by a 5-year warranty. The Br-X3 Micro-Rotor is produced in a limited series of 99 pieces.
The movement of the BR-X3 Micro-Rotor is semi-skeletonized. But here, skeletonization is not merely a subtraction of material - it follows a deliberate framework, conceived as a composition. Vertical and horizontal bridges intersect to form a metallic grid of striking graphic rigor.
A powerful visual signature that positions this piece at the intersection of instrument watch and objet d’art. The references cited by Bruno Belamich, Creative Director of Bell & Ross, are telling: Piet Mondrian and Charlotte Perriand.
One, a leading figure of geometric abstract painting; the other, a pioneer of modernist architecture and furniture design. Two worlds united by a shared belief in structure, line, and grid as aesthetic language. The BR-X3 Micro-Rotor belongs to this tradition: a graphic, architectural, almost conceptual watch. An object that does not borrow from art - it is art.
Time is displayed in its purest expression. Two photoluminiscent hands - for hours and minutes - blend into the dial’s grid. No seconds hand. The seconds are not displayed; they are suggested by the visible oscillation of the balance wheel, a living reminder of the mechanics in motion.
Where the BR-X3 Micro-Rotor Tourbillon of 2025 featured a visible Tourbillon cage and off-centred time display, the BR X3 Micro-Rotor opts for central hands and a traditional balance. a more classical execution in its references, yet faultless in its finishing. This is not a watch designed for instant legibility. It is a manifesto piece that demands from its wearer the same gaze one gives to architecture, to an artwork, to an object conceived down to its finest detail.
The aesthetic of the BR-X3 Micro-Rotor is monochrome - steel and grey - and minimalist in expression, never in execution. Bridges are brushed, manipulated micro blasted, bevels meticulously polished. Each surface interacts with light in its own way. The whole exudes rare coherence - found in pieces where every manufacturing decision is also an aesthetic one. The BR-X3 Micro-Rotor is intended for collectors an discerning enthusiasts who recognise the sophistication of the architecture, the quality of execution, and the boldness of a square manufacture movement integrated into the very structure of its case.
