Amida co-founder and creative director Matthieu Allègre dismisses the definition of a heritage archive. For Allègre, the brand is an active tool for change. A way to physically retrieve the “Lost Future.”

“The mid-century design movement gave us a baseline of audacity that was abandoned too soon. My role is to pick up from where Amida left off,” says Allègre. “We do not look back to copy the past. We look back to resume the work.”

With the OSII Black, Allègre believes we are getting closer to a Historical Correction: “We are finally building the machine they dreamed of making, but couldn’t.”

The Digitrend OSII Black translates the concept of evolution into structural reality:

The Transparent Shield (Sapphire Hood): The traditional metal shell is replaced by a complex sapphire hood. Machined from a single block of sapphire, it acts as a transparent shield, protecting the movement while allowing light to flood the internal architecture from every angle.

The Internal Framework (Structural internal): With the interior now visible, the design must extend inward. A new DLC-coated 316L steel internal framework creates a structured construct that is integrated into the architecture of the jumping-hour module. This deliberate, sculpted form replaces the hidden utilitarian parts of the past, ensuring that every internal component is a contribution to the aesthetic.

The Interface (Luminous Display): For the first time, the jumping-hour display is fully legible in the dark. Charged by light penetrating the sapphire hood, the BGW9 Super-LumiNova® indices ignite in the dark. Combined with additional luminous accents on the framework, the design continues into the dark. In the past, the Digitrend disappeared at night, but now it projects a “Nocturnal Form” that remains faithful to its design language.
