n the late 1950s, Havana was one of the world’s most glamorous destinations — a city vibrating with music, elegance, nightlife, and speed. Along the iconic Malecón waterfront, the roar of racing engines echoed through the streets as Cuba hosted one of the most fascinating and dramatic chapters in motorsport history: the Gran Premio de Cuba. Today, this spirit returns through an exclusive trilogy of chronographs inspired by the only three editions of the legendary race ever held: 1957, 1958, and 1960.

Each timepiece captures the energy, colors, and visual identity of the original race posters, transforming a piece of Cuban automotive history into a contemporary mechanical creation.

The first Gran Premio de Cuba took place in 1957 on the spectacular Circuito del Malecón in Havana. The event quickly became an international sensation, attracting some of the greatest racing drivers of the era and turning Havana into the Caribbean capital of motorsport. Fast, dangerous, and glamorous, the circuit ran along the seafront boulevard with palm trees, ocean spray, and thousands of passionate spectators lining the streets.

In 1958, the race became forever etched into motorsport history when five-time Formula One World Champion Juan Manuel Fangio was kidnapped in Havana by Cuban revolutionaries on the eve of the race. Fangio was treated respectfully and released unharmed, but the event shocked the international sporting world and symbolized the political tensions rising in Cuba at the time. Because of the instability surrounding the country, no Grand Prix was held in 1959.

The race returned one final time in 1960 under the name Gran Premio Libertad, marking the last chapter of Cuban international street racing before the event disappeared forever.

The final chapter of the Cuban Grand Prix story is represented through a powerful combination of white and red, directly inspired by the geometric poster of the 1960 race.
