With the new DS Super PH2000M, Certina pushes the boundaries of its underwater watch collection further, introducing the first PH timepiece engineered for depths of up to 2,000 meters below the surface of the ocean. An environment of crushing, near-impossible pressure. A feat of engineering built for a world where almost nothing else survives. Rooted in the brand’s DS concept introduced in 1959 and its PH diving watches launched in the 1960s, this new generation doubles previous performance standards, reaching 2,000 meters and is also equipped with the next evolution of Double Security: the DS Concept Extreme Shock Resistance. Crafted in Grade 2 titanium, the collection introduces four models defined by bold material and color combinations, featuring ceramic bezels and available on a choice of titanium, rubber, or fabric strap. Powered by the Powermatic 80 movement with Nivachron™ balance spring, the DS Super PH2000M delivers precision, endurance and reliability under extreme pressure.

The DS Super PH2000M is the natural evolution of decades of underwater expertise, doubling depth resistance to an unprecedented 2,000 meters and embodying the ultimate expression of the DS concept first introduced in 1959. PH stands for hydrostatic pressure, referring to the physical law that defines pressure as a function of density, gravity and depth. Built to withstand extreme pressure, it is more than a tool: it is a statement of strength at the very edge of what is possible.

From 200 meters with the DS PH200M in the 1960s to 1000 meters with the DS-2 Super PH1000M in 1970, this new milestone continues a clear and uncompromising progression. A watch designed to remain unaffected, no matter the forces surrounding it. Because at Certina, withstanding pressure is not just a feature; it is an experience. Built to perform both on land and underwater, Certina has long proven its reliability in the most extreme environments on Earth – from Himalayan expeditions to subsea research missions, including during the 1970 Tektite II underwater experiment. Available in four distinct colorways, the DS Super PH2000M reinforces Certina’s deep-rooted legacy, confirming once again that Certina has always felt at home in the water; from pioneering missions to extreme expeditions. Each model is delivered with a second strap: a titanium bracelet complemented by either a fabric, silicone or rubber strap depending on the model. Built for certainty. Crafted for life.

Alongside the white dial and blue bezel, as well as the yellow dial and black bezel executions, the black version combines a deep black dial and black ceramic bezel with striking orange accents on the hands, indexes and bezel graduations, all finished with a lightweight titanium bracelet engineered for extreme conditions. With orange, the deep never stays dark.

In collaboration with the Sea Turtle Conservancy (STC), Certina continues to strengthen its long-term commitment to ocean preservation through a partnership now spanning nine years. Founded in 1959, the STC is one of the world’s oldest sea turtle conservation organizations, dedicated to protecting endangered sea turtles and their habitats through research, education and conservation programs across the globe.

This shared vision is reflected in a special limited edition of 1,959 pieces, a tribute to both the launch year of the DS concept and the founding year of the STC. It features a turquoise dial paired with a black ceramic bezel, symbolizing the ocean depths and Certina’s enduring connection to marine protection. This turquoise version, available on either a silicone or titanium bracelet, delivers a bold, contemporary aesthetic with a gradient dial shifting from turquoise to black. It features a black ceramic bezel enhanced with matching turquoise accents.

The DS Super PH2000M is built to exceed every limit, combining extreme water resistance up to 2,000 meters (200 bar) with the proven reliability of the automatic Powermatic 80 movement. Equipped with a Nivachron™ balance spring, it delivers an impressive 80-hour power reserve while ensuring long-term precision and strong resistance to magnetic fields. Its robust Grade 2 titanium tonneau-shaped case integrates a screw-down crown and caseback, along with a helium escape valve positioned at 9 o’clock. This automatic valve releases builtup helium during decompression, ensuring safety and peace of mind in extreme conditions. The unidirectional ceramic bezel, featuring a secure push-to-turn system, is both highly resistant and virtually scratch-proof. The ceramic insert preserves the depth and intensity of its colour over time, while Super-LumiNova® highlights the triangle at 12 o’clock, ensuring optimal readability in all conditions.

Designed for maximum legibility, the dial features Super-LumiNova® coated hands and indexes, enhanced by a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating for absolute clarity. Even the date display at 3 o’clock serves a functional purpose in extended missions; a reminder of the real-world conditions faced during historic underwater programs such as Tektite II, where tracking time was essential. Strapped in several options like titanium, rubber, silicone or a textile strap, reinforcing Certina’s commitment to performance and sustainability.
